co-investigator

Adam Brown

Sustainability Officer
Cape Breton University

Growing up exploring the ecosystems of the shorelines and forests of Cape Breton, Adam went on to formalize his scientific training with a BSc. (Hons) Chemistry from Cape Breton University before pursuing graduate studies in Biomedical Engineering at Dalhousie University.

The next 6 years in multidisciplinary science education at Discovery Centre (Halifax) culminated in the role of Senior Science Educator Climate Action for GenAction – the Discovery Centre-led national youth climate action and education partnership to drive a cultural shift towards sustainability. This academic and work experience, combined with a history as a volunteer firefighter and service on OH&S and Fire Safety committees, has led Adam to be CBU’s first Sustainability Coordinator, in the Department of Risk Management.
