Iveta Silova is Professor and Associate Dean of Global Engagement at Mary Lou Fulton College of Teaching and Learning Innovation at Arizona State University (ASU).

She is a member of the ASU’s Education for Planetary Futures Collaborative and Global Futures Scientists and Scholars Network, an interdisciplinary group of scientists and scholars working together to solve existing and emerging challenges of planetary health and wellbeing. Drawing on environmental philosophy, ecofeminism, decolonial studies, and childhood studies, Iveta’s research aims to rebuild transcultural and transdisciplinary foundations for re-envisioning education futures toward planetary sustainability. From empirical research to socially engaged art initiatives, Iveta collaborates with colleagues globally to realign research agendas and transform education policies, practices, and pedagogies in ways that are more ecologically sound, responsive, and inclusive. Since 2023, Iveta is co-leading a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project “AccelNet-Design: Global Futures Oriented Research Collected on Education for Sustainability (G-FORCES)”, which brings together a dynamic networks of research networks around a common commitment to transforming education and sustainability research to foster disciplinary convergence, social impact, and equitable, just outcomes. At the grassroots level, she co-leads a global socially engaged art initiative “Turn it Around!”, which mobilizes youth visions of climate futures for education policy advocacy and change.
