Qingna Jin, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Education Department at Cape Breton University. Her research focuses on scientific and socio-scientific reasoning, with a particular emphasis on climate change education.

She investigates how children and educators engage with climate-related socio-scientific issues, emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and dialogical argumentation in school science and STEM learning contexts. Dr. Jin is interested in how young learners develop the skills to critically evaluate climate information and take informed action. Her work seeks to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world climate action, empowering the next generation of informed, engaged, and proactive changemakers.
